HOUSE by John Lewis

In a similar move to Waitrose creating the ‘Essentials’ range, John Lewis has recently launched ‘HOUSE’, which was created to offer contemporary, well-made products for your home at affordable prices.

The John Lewis HOUSE range features over 600 products, including lighting, furniture, textiles and cooking and dining accessories.  It offers something for everyone and makes buying contemporary home products much more accessible.

We love the collection and are looking forward to seeing it evolve over the coming months as more products are added and colour sets change to include bolder colours. For now we’ve picked out some of our favourites within the HOUSE collection.

House by John Lewis Jasper Dining Chair - £39

The Jasper Dining Chair comes in a variety of colours – our pick is the chair in red. It’s a clean and simple dining chair at a greater price and with a touch of 1950s design influence. The chair features a curved oak veneer seat which is lacquered, completed by a set of chrome legs.  Perfect either for a contemporary dining room feel or use them in for a kitchen dining set as they’re easy to wipe down.

House by John Lewis Jibraltar Hiballs - £2.50

At just £2.50 these hiballs are an absolute bargain and will add some chic to your glasswear. They are available in red, teal and green (our favourite being teal) and are perfect for everyday use. We’ve seen similar glasses in high-end contemporary furniture stores for over £10 and there appears to be no difference in quality. These will never go out of fashion and are a cost effective way of adding a contemporary feel to your home.

House by John Lewis Watt Table Lamp - £45

No contemporary room is complete without a beautifully designed lamp and this table lamp fits the bill at just £45. It features a unique light bulb shaped glass cover over a light bulb, with the effect  of producing one large light bulb. Pair them to create a great set of bed-side table lamps or add one on a sideboard to add a great contemporary piece in your living room. The brushed chrome finish looks brilliant and helps to create a minimalist look, coupled with a funky red fabric cord.
