Great Value Easter Sun Destinations

Great Value Easter Sun Destinations
February 24, 2015

With just a few weeks until Easter, now’s the time to snap up some great last minute deals for some Easter sun. We’ve picked our top three destinations where you’re guaranteed sunny days and warm temperatures over the Easter period.

Lanzarote

Lanzarote is probably the most famous island in the Canaries and for good reason, it offers great weather for us Brits and in fabulous surroundings. Although Lanzarote has been developed significantly in recent years, there are still parts of the island that remain untouched, so if you’re looking for some sightseeing to break up the beach time, it’s yours for the taking.

Lanzarote Easter Holiday

Temperatures usually hover around the early to mid 20s in April, with an average 7 hours of glorious sunshine each day. For a 1 week holiday expect to pay as little as £202 per person (based on 2 sharing) with lastminute.com.

Cyprus

Although Cyprus has one of the mildest climates in the med, temperatures really start to rise from March onwards when you can expect them to hit the low 20s.

Cyprus may have gained a somewhat interesting reputation due to Brits behaving badly in the party resort of Ayai Napa, but the island has so much more to offer and is steeped in history.

Cyrpus Easter Holiday

Alongside miles of beaches you’ll find ancient ruins, including amphitheaters where gladiators fought (something to keep the kids’ imaginations running wild) and castles.

Based on it’s popularity there are a huge range of Easter sun holidays available in Cyprus as more and more hotels have been put up in recent years. This also means you can get some great value deals, such as 7 nights from around £230pp with lowcostholidays.com.

Egypt

If you’re after a completely different environment head to Egypt and more specifically, Luxor. On the banks of the River Nile, it offers all the charm you’d expect with souks (markets) dotted across the city and even hot air balloon rides over the region so you can truly experience what it has to offer.

Luxor Easter Holiday

Temperatures remain fairly stable all year round and should be well into the 20s around the Easter period, with around 10 hours of sunshine each day.

Whether you want to laze by the pool, take a day trip to Cairo or soak in the history, Luxor is a great place to start if you’ve never visited Egypt before.

Prices have really come down in recent years with budget airlines such as easyJet setting up new routes from the UK to Egypt. There are some great deals to be had and you should easily find a 1 week break including flights & hotel for around £500 with the likes of Expedia.
